Anyone who feels their life has been affected by contact with a problem drinker is welcome in Al-Anon; meetings are open to all seeking help, regardless of meeting format. We suggest you try at least six different meetings before deciding if Al-Anon is for you. Some meetings limit attendance to those affected by someone else’s drinking (Families and Friends Only). Other meetings allow observers to attend as well, including students and our professional friends (Families, Friends, and Observers Welcome). We ask observers to check meeting descriptions below before attending. Al-Anon is an anonymous program and all attendees are expected to respect other participants’ anonymity.
Al-Anon has a special program for teenagers called Alateen. An in-person Alateen meeting is held in Greenfield on Wednesdays from 3–4 p.m., and an Alateen hybrid (in-person and online) meeting is held on Sundays from 5–6 p.m. in Northampton (see information below). Teenagers are also welcome at all Al-Anon meetings.
